Kieran McKenna spoke about the importance of inclusivity within the club and respecting individual beliefs after a recent controversy involving a player’s decision related to religious beliefs.
Kieran McKenna said “As the club statement said, we want to be an inclusive club. We are working really, really hard on that. Within the club, within the playing group, there has been a lot of good work and want to continue that. But at the same time the club has respected Samy’s individual decision based on his religious beliefs. I think that’s a fair assessment.”
Oliver Glasner addressed the situation involving Marc Guehi and his armband, emphasizing tolerance and respect for individual opinions despite regulatory guidelines from The FA.
Oliver Glasner said “Everybody who knows Marc knows he’s a great guy and very humble. I don’t think we should make this bigger than it is. He’s an adult, he has an opinion and we respect that. This campaign is about being tolerant and Marc is very tolerant.”
