Julen Lopetegui spoke about Ruud van Nistelrooy’s managerial debut at Leicester City and the anticipated challenge his team will face at the King Power Stadium.
Julen Lopetegui said “I think that Ruud is a very good manager – he has shown this before in the teams that he has worked and he has experience in the Premier League. We have to be ready, because I am sure the next challenge is going to be very tough and demanding. That extra step and energy which happens when a new coach arrives is always important. I don’t know what he (van Nistelrooy) is thinking in his mind, but this is not in our control.”
Julen Lopetegui shared his views on the team’s preparation for the upcoming match against Leicester City.
Julen Lopetegui said “We are focused on the next challenge and getting ready for Leicester now. I prefer to talk about tomorrow than the last match, because that is the past now. We were disappointed with the last match, with the score in the first half, but we are putting our focus in the next challenge. We cannot stay talking or thinking about the past, we have to be ready in the next game.”
Julen Lopetegui provided an update on the team’s fitness, particularly regarding Jean-Clair Todibo’s minor injury and Mohammed Kudus’s return from suspension.
Julen Lopetegui said “Mohammed Kudus is back, but he has missed a lot of matches.”
