Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Son Heung-min’s fitness as the team prepares for upcoming fixtures. Son will miss the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City this week due to ongoing recovery from hamstring and thigh issues, but he is expected to return for the Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday. Son’s absence from several recent games has been noted, although he did manage a 70-minute appearance in the win over West Ham.
Ange Postecoglou said, “Son is almost fit but probably from our perspective we’ll aim for the weekend. We’re quite confident he’ll be right for the weekend.”
Postecoglou also addressed the status of Wilson, another player facing fitness issues. Unfortunately, Wilson has encountered a significant setback and the nature of his condition is still being assessed.
Ange Postecoglou said, “The only other one missing out which is a bit of a disappointment is Wilson, who has had a setback during the week and it seems like it is a serious one so we’re just waiting for more information.”
Additionally, Postecoglou commented on Odobert’s injury after he missed the recent Premier League clash against Crystal Palace and had only recently returned as a substitute in a win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou said, “Not exactly the same [injury] but same area.”
