Morgan Rogers experienced a unique and thrilling atmosphere during Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Bayern Munich at Villa Park. He was impressed by the energy and excitement of the crowd.
Morgan Rogers said, “It was a magical night at Villa Park and hopefully there can be many more. I think the whole night, not just the goal, was special. Walking out to that atmosphere, I have never experienced anything quite like it. It was a memorable night and doubtless one I will remember for the rest of my life.”
He further explained the electrifying support from the fans.
Morgan Rogers said, “Obviously the goal [was special] but that feeling walking out, that feeling, the energy, the buzz the whole crowd had. They were all behind us. Nothing beats that, when you have 40,000 behind you the way they are, cheering you on. It is what you play football for.”
Rogers planned to reflect on the experience with his family, recognizing the significance of such a match in his career.
Morgan Rogers said, “It is quite surreal. I will probably sit down with my family after this and take it all in. I am just trying to impress and play well. I love football and want to play on a stage like this. I want to embrace it and enjoy it and I think I did that tonight. When I look back and reflect, I will be really proud of myself.”
Aston Villa’s defense played a crucial role in the match, with key contributions from goalkeeper Emi Martinez. Rogers commented on the team’s strategy and execution against Bayern Munich.
Morgan Rogers said, “We contained them pretty well. We had a game plan and knew they were going to have a lot of the ball and dominate, which they did. But I thought we nullified their threats as best we could and then tried to impose ourselves and hit on the counter, causing problems of our own.”
Rogers felt the team’s efforts were justified with the win.
Morgan Rogers said, “I think we did that at times. Maybe at others we could have been a bit better but we got the goal and won the game at the end. I think we deserved it on how the game went and how we wanted it to go.”
Despite the exhausting game, Rogers remained optimistic about upcoming matches, including against Manchester United.
Morgan Rogers said, “Hopefully energy won’t be on low. It is low right now, I am tired! But we will be ready for Sunday, as we always are. We will believe we can win the game. It’s Manchester United, one of the biggest teams in the world. I enjoy games like this, it is the games you want to play in.”
Throughout the interview, Rogers emphasized the belief and confidence within the team.
Morgan Rogers said, “We have belief anyway. We go into every game trying to win. Obviously this will give us a kick on and a boost. That is natural. But I think we have lost one game this season. There is belief there clearly. We go out there and believe in ourselves.”
