David Silva has hailed “incredible” Pep Guardiola’s work ethic as he enters the final phase of his Manchester City career. The Blues midfielder is expected to play his final Premier League game against Norwich on Sunday, bringing an end to ten years in which he has gathered 11 club trophies. And six of those pieces of silverware have come in his four seasons under Guardiola, who he credits with establishing City as a dominant force in the English game.
David Silva said “His influence has been huge because what Pep has done during his time here has been incredible, We have won a lot of trophies and what’s more we have dominated football here in England too. The way we play against the big teams and dominate matches is something that requires a lot of hard work and that’s what he has done. Starting with the goalkeeper at the back right up to the forwards. It hasn’t just happened by chance. Thanks to him and the important role he has played we have won these trophies. I’m older! Now I have more experience. When you play and you are older you feel better on the pitch. I think quicker. I can see things that before I didn’t see. When I was young I had more energy but now I can play better football.”
