Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter is adamant Ben White won’t be leaving the south coast in the upcoming transfer window. White, 22, has starred on loan with Leeds United this season to help the Elland Road club return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence. His performances under Marcelo Bielsa have prompted plenty of speculation that Leeds could attempt to sign him permanently, while a host of other clubs have reportedly checked White out during the campaign.
Graham Potter said “He’s our player, he’s got a long contract with us, I have known Ben for a while, I have been aware of him, I wanted to try and sign him when we were at Swansea. I know about his qualities. He’s a fantastic player. He’s done brilliantly at Leeds and helped them get a promotion – that’s fantastic for them, fantastic for him – but he’s our player and we’re looking forward to working with him. He complements us really well. He’s got attributes that are really, really useful and he’s going to be a top player.”
