Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp has signed a new contract at Tottenham to commit his future to the club. With his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, Spurs have moved to ensure he remains at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2024. Skipp has made a total of nine appearances for the Lilywhites this season and he has made quite an impression on Jose Mourinho in his short time at the club.
Oliver Skipp said “Being at the club since I was very young, it is nice to extend my contract here, Hopefully now I can push on and see what the future holds. Hopefully I can gain more and more appearances. It shows the manager trusts me and the club have plans for me going forward. It has really flown by, I look back at that first tour and it seems like yesterday, but I have experienced good things in the first team with the Champions League last year, it has been a difficult season this season for everyone, but it something that I have learned from and hopefully we can use it to push forward for the next seasons. You see what he has done in the game (Jose Mourinho), Champions League wins, Premier League wins, it is something you can learn off and develop your understanding of the game due to his tactical knowledge,” admitted Spurs No.29. Working under Jose can only be good for me to develop all sides of my game. Growing up watching the Premier League demands so I am just trying to be as strong and powerful as possible really helps,” said the midfielder. You look at all the good teams, everyone is powerful, everyone can run so it is something I am trying to get in my game.
