Liverpool Smash and Grab full three points against QPR thanks to a late Rosenthal strike
Ronny Rosenthal grabbed an 87th-minute winner for Liverpool as they secure three vital points at QPR in what was a smash and grab victory for the reds. The most impressive player on the pitch was Mike Hooper whose fine performance between the goal helped Liverpool keep a clean sheet.
Gordon Durie of Tottenham found guilty of feigning injury suspended for three matches
Gordon Durie, the Tottenham striker was found guilty of a misconduct charge by the FA. The Scottish International received a three-match suspension after being found guilty of feigning injury following flare up with Conventry’s Andy Pearce at White Hart Lane. The referee had booked both the players and despite FA’s suspension Durie maintained his innocent and said that the verdict was a slur on his reputation.

Manchester United brought the first-ever full house at Arsenal’s Highbury stadium with 29000 tickets sold
Despite a recent upturn in the form, crowds were not going through in number at Highbury and low attendance at Arsenal’s stadium was a concern for the club throughout that season. But for them, their good form coupled with the visit of their big rivals from the North, Manchester United were set to visit Arsenal and it resulted in the first-ever full house of the season. The North London confirmed that it had sold out all 29000 tickets for the game.

Alan Kelly was set to be rewarded for his impressive showings for Sheffield United
Alan Kelly’s rise to prominence in the Sheffield United goalkeeper’s jersey over the previous few weeks was set to be rewarded with a call up from Jack Charlton for the upcoming friendly fixtures in February. Kelly’s string of impressive performances at Bramall lane along with an injury to Simon Treacy was ruled out for two months due to an injury.
