Jose Mourinho has spoken of his need for time to get things right at Tottenham if Daniel Levy wants him to deliver silverware. Mourinho took over the side in November last year but is yet to see wholesale changes to the team’s on-field fortunes following a start to the season which led to Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking. The Portuguese have suggested that in order to emulate the successes of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, he will need time to build his own squad. Mourinho expressed how difficult it is to change mentalities in football.
Jose Mourinho said “It’s to change state of mind. It’s to change the team’s soul. It’s one of the most difficult things in football. Only time can do it. You have a recent example of the new champions and you know what the process to build the team is.”
