Mark Robins hit a splendid hat trick against his home town team to take Norwich back to the top of the Premier League table. Robins ended a seven-game goal-scoring duck by a sensational hat trick, third of which came in the 90th minute. Oldham as always was industrious and eager to go forward carved out to great early chances and came back twice to equalize via Graeme Sharp and Ian Marshall’s goals.

He had received a medical clearance after a blow to his neck and ribs during the European Cup defeat against Rangers the previous week. He missed Leeds’ defeat to Manchester City and was hopeful to be back in the goal for Leeds’ next match after the international break.
