Sean Dyche has reiterated how tough it is for Everton to get transfers done this summer due to their lack of funds while confirming his team will play another behind-closed-doors fixture this week to boost the fitness levels of several players.
Sean Dyche said: “The guidelines to get the deals done at this level of the market are tough. They’re certainly tough in our current situation so, we will have to wait and see what we can do. You can only work with the situation, you can’t magic it all up. Everyone can talk about it but nobody just magics it all up and says: ‘Oh there you go, we’ll find £100million for you’, so there’s got to be a reality of the situation of the club and what we can do, that’s what we’re trying to work with – what we can do.”
Meanwhile, Everton are set to play another friendly this week as Dyche looks to improve the sharpness among certain members of his squad. The Blues had a similar fixture when they drew 2-2 against Serie A side AC Monza at Goodison Park on August 1 while last season their manager arranged training matches against Stockport County and Chester.
Sean Dyche said: “We’re playing a game and there’s a number of players, not just Dom (Calvert-Lewin), that need to play in that game. Dom’s different because he’s finishing his rehab but some of the other players need minutes because they need to play having missed chunks of pre-season, Myko (Vitalii Mykolenko) and Arnie (Arnaut Danjuma), people like that, they need football.”
