Pep Guardiola spoke about the injury that Eric Garcia suffered in Manchester City’s match against Arsenal and explained the rationale behind picking the youngster ahead of John Stones. There have been rumours about impending exit of Stones from the club but Guardiola admitted that against Burnley he could be looking to get in a different type of defender instead of Garcia which may allow Stones to get in the first team.
Pep Guardiola said “Eric came back so well, very intelligent, not easy to play Aubameyang, he’s a guy training really well, He understands perfectly well, when we play – Boxing Day, winter, he always plays good, no mistakes, always focussed, in this game we knew we played dynamic players. Against Burnley we might need another type of player but for this game he was the right man to play.”
