Will Nigeria get to have Bournemouth midfield star Philip Billing ?

Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing is of Nigerian descent, was born in Denmark and has featured for the Red and White’s U19 and U20 sides. However, he is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles – Nigeria. After Billing’s highlight reel against Norwich City at the weekend, his countrymen in Nigeria have become more than eager and keen to Philip to play for them.

Philip Billing has not made up his mind currently on this.  He said “It wasn’t until when we [Bournemouth] were going to play against Everton a couple of weeks ago when Alex Iwobi asked if I might be interested in coming and playing for Nigeria. The coach had asked me and it was the first time I heard anything concrete myself. It would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria, even though my father is from there. I am half Nigerian and I feel that way too but I was born and raised in Denmark. My mother is Danish and my sister is Danish, so it would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: The towering midfielder was well aware of his rising star after his dominant performance and  impressive reading of the game against opponents. He is capable of making several interceptions and clearly hot asset amongst PREMIER LEAGUE FANS. As immigrants, choosing country of origin vs country that welcomed you to prosper and we support Billing with his choice.

Should Wolves’ fans be worried about club finances  ?

Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi insists Wolves’ finances have never been stronger as they seek investment to take the club brand worldwide.

The Molineux supremo said “The club’s financial strength ‘historically is the best’ though they are seeking more commercial support as well a big fanbase to continue to grow. The club is speaking to the city council about rebuilding Molineux with no time frame yet for expanding the stadium. At least, during my tenure here, I think – I have gone through the Championship period and the first season in the Premier League, so I know clearly about how strong our financial status is now. Regarding the funding it is not only about the funding itself, I think it is about that we need more commercial support, and also a big fanbase to help the club go into a high level in future.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: For everything that the owner of a club expects, strong support  and fanbase only comes when the club has a strategy, vision and direction to move towards the vision. With wolves, it seems all to be happening right so far with European nights, good squad and a brilliant manager. PREMIER LEAGUE FANS would expect wolves to get  strong support from all the friends around the world.

Why is Arsenal Captain Granix Xhaka upset about Patrice Evra’s comments ?

Granit Xhaka has hit back at Arsenal’s critics by insisting their belief that the Gunners’ are mentally weak away from home is “bulls***. The loss at Sheffield Wednesday’s Bramall Lane was a fifth in the last 10 away games in the league on a night when Arsenal’s common failings were again on view. The Gunners looked vulnerable from set-pieces and uncomfortable playing out from the back, while at the other end of the pitch top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was largely anonymous and isolated and Blades goalkeeper Dean Henderson was only forced to make one real save – from a 30-yard strike from Xhaka just before half time.

Xhaka got upset with Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra’s comments. Patrice Evra who played 9 years in English Premier League with Manchester United was  a studio guest during Sky Sports’ live coverage of the match. After the match, he described the Gunners as “babies” in a blistering assessment of a team he claimed he used to relish playing against. Patrice Evra commented “They [Sheffield United] deserved the win but I’m not surprised about Arsenal. I used to call them ‘my babies’ ten years ago and they’re still babies when I look at them.I’m not being disrespectful when I say that, it’s just the feeling I’ve got with this team. They look pretty, they look good but they don’t look like a winning team. I was so happy to play against Arsenal because I knew I was going to win. Guendouzi…he was playing in the second tier in France and even then he wasn’t playing regularly and he’s the best player on this team! I respect the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette but you can see if those guys don’t score goals then they are in trouble.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS are worried about Arsenal and the direction of club. The club had removed legendary manager Arsene Wenger in hope of refreshing the squad , its mentality and bring it back to the top where it belonged in late 90’s and early 2000’s. The signs so far have not been encouraging and despite 3 transfer windows and plenty of patience from Gunners, the club seems to be at most a top 6 club and not the championship or title winning squad it used to be considered earlier.

Should Mason Greenwood be impatient like Pogba ?

Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is desperate for the chance to prove his worth in the Premier League after signing a four-year deal at Old Trafford.  The youngster who made his debut in the Red Devils’ famous 3-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain in March and Greenwood admitted it was an incredibly proud moment but he can show everyone what he can do in the times I come on or only if I play games.

Greenwood said “I’ll try my best and give it all for the team. [My aims are] to show everyone what I can do really and why I signed a contract – why I’m here. I just want to show everyone. PSG game in March, winning the game, from being down in the result was amazing. Coming onto the pitch, I was representing the whole Academy, from all the youth levels, so it was a great feeling. I’m going to show everyone what I can do in the times I come on or if I play games”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  Manchester United fans should not be concerned about whether Mason Greenwood would be impatient to take the my way or highway strategy which happened years back between Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Pogba’s notorious agent. Lack of playing time on the pitch played a critical role in Pogba leaving the club and English Premier League to play for Juventus in Italian Seria A. In Greenwood’s case, Ole seems to have things in control as the youngster has signed contract pledging his services to the club for future and we hope the young fledging can blossom into a strong striker that PREMIER LEAGUE FANS always admire.

How confident is Daniel Farke about his shining starlets ?

Daniel Farke hailed his ‘little magicians’ for getting down and dirty in Norwich City’s Premier League survival quest. The Canaries ground out a first clean sheet since promotion in a 0-0 stalemate at Bournemouth that underlined Farke’s squad are prepared to do the ugly side.

Daniel Farke said following “We have many technical players but they also have to fight for the team and for second balls. When I see the workload of Emi Buendia, Teemu Pukki, Todd Cantwell or Moritz Leitner, who all like to be on the ball and good in possession, but in the first half (at Bournemouth) we had to be compact. I can only praise my little magicians. Also, Ibrahim Amadou is the player I want to praise the most. He had a really, really decent start. He came from abroad, a different culture, a different language and he had to adapt immediately in a key role where he has not played that much because he is a holding midfielder. Against Manchester City he produced a world class centre back performance but in the last two or three games he was criticized and if we are honest he had to accept that criticism because he was involved in a few of the scenes that led to us conceding goals. But to go on and deliver this (Bournemouth) performance, to show steel, mentality and character I thought he was outstanding and it says a lot about his personality. I am pretty pleased we have him and especially in the next few weeks as an option for centre back, because we have to go further on with many injured players in this area of the pitch.”

Premier League Museum Editor Notes:  We have covered Norwich City performance  and predicted its position many times during international break and start of the season. Their attacking side is quite strong and that becomes at times their weakness as well. PREMIER LEAGUE FANS can remind the new managers that league has humbled some world class managers in the past where their philosophy and theories had to be adopted to suit the different styles, physicality, tactical astute and character that each team shows in the league. We hope and wish Daniel Farke and Norwich City team best for adapting and staying in the league.
