Despite David De Gea has signed a new big-money contract earlier in the season which will see him stay at United until 2023, with the option for a further year, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Henderson will be the first-choice one day in the future. De Gea has struggled for form in the last two seasons and there have been growing calls inside and outside of the clubs to bring Henderson back to the club and give him a chance to establish himself as the number one keeper.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said “Dean has made some great choices over the years and has developed fantastically, We’re looking at that in terms of where he’s going to be next season, but as yet that has not been decided. This season has proved a great experience for him, he’s done himself some favours with his performances and proved he will be England’s No.1 and Man United’s No.1 at some point.”
