Pep Guardiola has no intention of leaving Manchester City in the summer, even if they complete the treble this season. Guardiola signed a two-year contract extension in November until 2025 to replace his existing contract that expired at the end of the current season. Since that moment, City have turned their form around and won the Premier League this season – Guardiola’s fifth in six seasons – and now turn their attention to the FA Cup and the elusive Champions League titles. With a treble on offer, Guardiola could cement his status as a Premier League great, and answer the final criticism of his reign at City. Even if he does that, however, the City boss has no intention of leaving on a high this summer.

Pep Guardiola said: “Right now I am not thinking about leaving but who knows, but I am not thinking. I would like to continue here next season here independent of the results. I would like it but I don’t know what going to feel winning or losing the two chances we have ahead of us, my feeling I have a contract and when I sign I want to respect the club. I will stay next season while there are 110 breaches against us. Don’t worry, we will be there.”

Guardiola would go on to explain how the Premier League’s 115 charges against City won’t affect his future, but also noted that the environment for a manager in England than other European countries.

Pep Guardiola said: “Here the environment is easier, the demands are high but the environment off the pitch, our lives as a manager is more comfortable. Just to talk about Carlo [Ancelotti] or Julen Lopetegui. They come from Spain or other countries here. Maybe Roberto de Zerbi could speak…. All the managers here have been at other countries. But especially in Italy or Spain off the pitch, I’m not saying it’s better or worse, but the noise is ‘oh my god’. Here if you win you are a good manager if you lose you are a bad manager, so but after you go home and you prepare the next game. Its more comfortable. Our life is better.”
