Frank Lampard believes Chelsea will have no issue with signing players this summer despite the club having an extremely poor season and failing to qualify for the Champions League. Lampard, speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Nottingham Forest, has said he believes any player the club are interested in should have no hesitation when it comes to signing a contract.

Frank Lampard said: “Absolutely I would sign for Chelsea. My own life experience: I signed for Chelsea when we were a top-six, top-eight team. Little did I know it but 15 years later or 13 years later when I left I came out there with medals and trophies all over the place because of how the club moved forward. I’m not just patting myself on the back there, I was part of a huge process. I saw this club grow from that club to the most successful club in the modern era of the Premier League at that time. As I left we were really, really successful and have continued to be, to a degree. So there is a lot of great things about this club and ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’ is quite a good saying I think in football and I think when you see a club of Chelsea’s size and I see the intentions and things I don’t always speak about… I can see fantastic intentions to take the club forward. A lot of big clubs go through this process in some way shape or form and the more successful you have been the more headlines it gets when you come into that moment. The club just needs to take every step forward as it goes but as an individual player absolutely I would come here because it is an incredible club.”
