Arsene Wenger revealed he turned down a number of offers to coach in the Premier League because of his bond with Arsenal. The 69-year-old has stayed away from management since leaving the Gunners at the end of the 2017-18 season after 22 years in charge of the London club.
Despite being without a coaching role for the past 17 months, Wenger says he has had a number of offers to take charge of English top-flight teams, but he turned them down because of the connection to his former club. “I decided to move out of the Premier League because I am too linked with Arsenal. I had opportunities to work in England but I turned them down. I don’t want to tell you [which clubs] because there are people in charge and it would unfair to them.”
Everton boss Marco Silva laughs off suggestion he should be worried
Everton manager didn’t shirk his responsibilities after losing to Burnley, applauding the away fans, many of whom have already lost faith and let him know it.
