Roy Hodgson has revealed what he wants to see when his Crystal Palace side face Leicester City on Saturday. The 75-year-old returns to Palace after succeeding Patrick Vieira on March 21 with the club failing to win a Premier League game this year. The Eagles are currently just two points ahead of Leicester, adding huge significance to this weekend’s clash at Selhurst Park. City themselves are in a poor run of form with Brendan Rodgers side winless in their last five league games since thrashing Tottenham 4-1 at the King Power Stadium in February. And ahead of Saturday’s clash, Hodgson has been speaking about what he wants to see from his team in the first game of his second spell in charge.
Roy Hodgson said: “I want to see some energy and enthusiasm. I want to see that they are aware of our situation and aware that the fans need to be boosted by seeing a team they can believe in and get behind. That’s the most important thing for me at the moment. Any tactical changes or tweaks we want to make is what we will be working on a daily basis between now and the end of May. For this first game, I will summarise it by saying I want energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and I want a lack of fear. I want people with a lack of fear. I want people with the quality we have to show those qualities and not be frightened that they’re going to fail. Go out there and be prepared to fail. Trust in yourself, trust in your teammates, and trust our fans to pull us through.”
