Tottenham Hotspur have announced that manager Antonio Conte has left the club by mutual consent. The Reds are battling with Spurs for a place in the Premier League’s top four, and are currently seven points behind in sixth place. However, Liverpool do have two games in hand on Tottenham, and have 12 fixtures left to play this season. Everton are due to face Tottenham in their next match in the Premier League. The Blues welcome the London club to Goodison Park on Monday, April 3.  Liverpool are still due to play Tottenham in the Premier League this season, with the reverse fixture in North London seeing the Reds win 2-1 in November. Jurgen Klopp’s side welcome Spurs to Anfield on April 30.

Tottenham’s official statement read: “We can announce that Head Coach Antonio Conte has left the Club by mutual agreement. We achieved Champions League qualification in Antonio’s first season at the Club. We thank Antonio for his contribution and wish him well for the future. Cristian Stellini will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Ryan Mason as Assistant Head Coach.”

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also explained what he and the rest of the club aim to achieve in the final weeks of the season, despite Conte’s exit.

Daniel Levy said: “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place. We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our Club and amazing, loyal supporters.”
