Max Kilman has insisted that Wolves will not become unnerved in the battle for survival after their surprise 4-2 defeat to Leeds United on Saturday, Julen Lopetegui’s side would have hoped to record an important win over Leeds at Molineux as they looked to move further away from the drop zone. Instead, Wolves were left with too much to do after allowing Leeds to race to a 3-0 lead before attempting to get themselves back on level terms.
Max Kilman said: “We’ll regroup, stay calm and we go again for the last 10 games. We need to stay calm. We showed a lot of team spirit, we showed a bit of fight. Things didn’t go our way but we need to take it into the next game, rest and regroup. We showed a lot of fight and need to build on that. Hopefully we can try and keep the ball out of the net and score a few goals the next game. Sometimes things happen in football, you put more bodies forward and less bodies at the back, that’s just the nature of the game when you want to score at the end. Everyone knows what we need to do for the next game, there was a lot of pressure on this game and a lot of things didn’t go our way, so we’ve got to regroup and go again.”
Wolves will be aiming to right the wrong at Nottingham Forest on April 1, following the international break, but will also be without Matheus Nunes against the Reds. The Portuguese midfielder was sent off in added time after Rodrigo’s late goal for Leeds was allowed to stand, though Wolves plan to appeal both his red card. Jonny was also sent off, but Wolves are unlikely to appeal that one.
