David Moyes believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is up there with Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland. West Ham United travel to Spurs on Sunday where they will be looking to continue their recent unbeaten run dating back to a 2-0 win over Everton in January. Stopping Kane from continuing his fine season, 17 goals in 23 Premier League games, will be hard for the Hammers and Moyes has said the Spurs’ all-time top goalscorer is up there with Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski and Haaland.
David Moyes said: “Kane is a top player. If you’re talking about the best strikers in the world, Kane is probably alongside Lewandowski, for example. And the next one is on the way up, the likes of Haaland, if he’s not already there. People who have records which are incredible.”
Kane’s relationship with attacking partner Son Heung-Min is up there with the best, the duo often having what seems to be telepathic communication. However, Son this season has not hit the heights of recent seasons, though Moyes has admitted his focus has been on his own team and not Spurs and the South Korean.
David Moyes said: “I hope you’re right!” when asked whether Son and Kane’s relationship is no longer the same. We’ve got good players who aren’t playing as well as they can do. You know the form, you know it’s there, we’re saying: ‘Come on, let’s get back to it, reach your best form’. I’m not an expert on Tottenham, I couldn’t comment on how Son has been playing.”
