Marc Guehi says Crystal Palace have plenty of areas to improve on including keeping hold of the ball more after picking up a point against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Albion took the lead through Solly March with just under 30 minutes remaining in the match on Saturday afternoon but the Eagles hit back immediately through James Tomkins – the score remained tied until the final whistle. Captaining the side for the day, the England defender pointed out that while he was proud of his team-mates for fighting back from behind, he added that they need to keep improving and gave an example of an area in which they can get better at.

Marc Guehi said: “I think in games like this, you just have to keep going and stay focused. For the majority of the part, the team did that. In the end, Tomkins scored and it was a fantastic feeling for everyone. I just think we need to keep improving as a team and keep going. It [keeping hold of the ball more] is something that we keep going on about and have to keep working on, each and every day in training. Obviously, there are loads of different areas we can improve on, but I’m proud of the boys, for sure.”

With no wins in six Premier League games, Guehi once again said he was proud of his side earning a point against a high-flying Brighton side. Speaking about what the Eagles did well at Selhurst Park, Guehi made sure to praise goal-scorer Tomkins and the rest of the team for capitalising on a Brighton mistake.

Marc Guehi said: “In a tough game against Brighton, the team did really well to just keep going and stick in there. I’d say we came up against a really good side. Brighton played some really good stuff, and I’m just proud of the boys that we stuck in and kept going until the end. Although their ‘keeper made a mistake [for James Tomkins’ equalising goal], I’m just glad that we were there to pounce on it, and I think it’s a good point when you look at things.”
