Former England striker Darren Bent has called West Ham midfielder Declan Rice the “next superstar” and believes the Hammers can keep him at the club for another season at least. Bent believes Rice will stay at West Ham for another season at the very least.
Darren Bent said “I think West Ham will be able to hold onto him. It is a difficult one with Declan Rice because he is a very good player and it’s a position where a lot of people are looking for the next superstar to play in there, He’s well coveted, is Declan Rice, but I’d like to see West Ham keep hold of him for another year, if not longer, and then maybe after go. It’d be nice to see Declan Rice play another season there and do really well. If you consider this a pre-season, then a few clubs would have had a few friendlies under their belts. If it is one thing the clubs are not going to get it’s game practice. So getting the opportunity to do that gives us the chance to do that. All these things are subject to the protocols. We have to have everything right. We can’t ask teams to travel, we are not intending to travel. We will abide by the guidelines. We don’t want anything to go wrong in the build-up to the start of the Premier League.”
