Jesse Marsch has flirted with the idea of handing Maximilian Wober his Leeds United debut this weekend. On the eve of the 2-2 draw with West Ham United, the Whites confirmed the 24-year-old’s arrival from Red Bull Salzburg. Speaking to reporters post-match, Marsch hinted at a possible debut when Leeds take on Cardiff City in the FA Cup this weekend.
Jesse Marsch said: “Well, the one thing I know about Max is he’s a leader. He is a very intelligent player and he’s gifted. In that sense, he can play multiple positions. As a starting point, that’s how we will be thinking about him, how we can use him at left-back or how we use Pascal (Struijk) a little bit at left-back or centre-back. He can play left centre-back and he can play as a six. So, I think just getting him into the group and getting him up to speed (is the current priority). He has the potential to play on Sunday. He looks pretty fit. He knows the principles of how we want to play. So I’m hopeful in a lot of ways that he can help us perform at our best.”
