Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has heaped praise on Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, while also admitting that he would like to provide more assists for Pep Guardiola’s side. The City full-back has now opened up on which of his England teammates he is most jealous of and which part of their game he would like to take from them. As part of the FA’s ‘If I could’ series,
Kyle Walker said: “Trent, Trippier or Ward-Prowse’s delivery of a football. They are unique players in that they can put it on a six-pence. Nine times out of ten it leads to a goal.”
He also he set himself the challenge of contributing more directly to his side’s goal output while wearing a City shirt. When asked which part of his game he would most like to improve,
Kyle Walker said: “…providing more assists. I would like to get a little bit further forward and get the balls into the box a little bit more. My position at City is more for the transitions than setting up goals. We are very fortunate that we have a lot of players who can set up goals, without me going up there, but if I could add that to my game then I would be right up there.”
