Kieffer Moore said Cherries’ 3-2 defeat against Tottenham was “tough to take” but insisted he showed “a little bit more about what I can do”. The Wales international netted either side of the interval at Vitality Stadium, to put his side into a two-goal lead. But Antonio Conte’s side fought back with goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies coming before Rodrigo Bentancur’s last-gasp winner.

Kieffer Moore said: “To go 2-0 up against such a good side. I suppose we can take the positives out of that. But ultimately, to concede the goals we conceded – especially the last set-piece in the dying embers of the game is a tough one to take. I felt like everyone really put a shift in out there. Ultimately, it’s down to the finer details which let us down. But down to each man, everyone put a great shift in. It’s not nice when that’s not rewarded really but it’s lessons to be learned.”

Moore was recalled to Gary O’Neil’s starting XI for the first time since the 0-0 draw with Brentford at the start of October. Asked how pleased he was with two goals on his return to the side,

Kieffer Moore replied: “Of course, I am buzzing that I got on the end of some good deliveries. It’s never easy when you find yourself out of a team and you trying to get back in, you’re trying to do everything you can really to keep pushing and pushing. Thankfully Gary gave me the chance and I feel like I showed him a little bit more about what I can do and what I can give to this team.”

Cherries’ next test comes at Leeds United at Elland Road next Saturday.
