Chelsea head coach Graham Potter felt a draw was a fair outcome after Casemiro’s last-gasp header earned Manchester United a point at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel last month, was disappointed to see his side let their lead slip so late on, he thought a draw was “about right”.
Thomas Tuchel said: “It’s disappointing because you’re 1-0 up and you can see the end. But over the course of the game I think a point is about right. I don’t know whether we did well enough to win it. Of course we got into the position to win it, but overall it was a really fighting performance from us. We improved a lot after the first 30 minutes and in the end we take what we get.”
Casemiro’s late heroics brought Chelsea’s run of five consecutive clean sheets to an end, such is the defensive solidity they have shown in recent weeks. Potter, however, could not deny the quality of the Brazilian’s late leveller.
Graham Potter continued: “We could’ve got out a bit more connected, but it’s a great header. It only just went in. That’s our first goal we’ve conceded in a while because it’s dropped us two points. We have to appreciate the work ethic but adjustments need to be made as well.”
