Cenk Tosun has confirmed that he wants to stay at Everton and prove himself, after spending time on loan at Crystal Palace. The Turkish striker has returned to Everton after a loan spell at Crystal Palace, during which he scored one goal in five appearances, netting in the Eagles’ 2-2 draw against Manchester City in January. His loan spell in south London was cut short though after he sustained a serious knee injury in training with the Eagles, with Tosun expected to be out for up to nine months. The injury brought his time with Palace to a premature end, However, Tosun has now given his clearest indication yet over where he sees himself after the injury.
Cenk Tosun said “I have another two years remaining on my Everton contract, I want to prove myself. Everton are a massive club and make big transfers every year. There is a lot of competition. I want to make a full recovery, return to 100 per cent and get myself back in the team. If I win my place back in the side I want to stay here. Otherwise another loan could be on the cards. Carlo Ancelotti was the first to call me after my injury at Crystal Palace, He said how upset he was for me and that he hopes I make a full recovery as soon as possible. I thanked him.”
