Pep Guardiola insists Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘incredible’ quality after Manchester City won 3-0 at Molineux this afternoon. Jack Grealish kick-started the scoring for City inside the first minute of the game, before Erling Haaland and Phil Foden added goals for the visitors. Wolves were sent down to 10 men in the first half when Nathan Collins was shown a red card for a foul on Grealish, but Guardiola claims that Wolves are always tricky customers.
Pep Guardiola said: “It is tough after the Champions League at this time against this team because they have incredible quality, I know how difficult it is to come here and win. Sometimes that happens but we did that at Newcastle and then went behind but we got the second goal and the red card allowed us to control it. They had a good spell at 2-0 and at that score the game was in a dangerous situation. The people up front like to score goals for their confidence. Jack was aggressive one v one in the last games but today he scored, that was the only difference. We only have one player and two goalkeepers left during the international window so it is completely empty so everyone will stay at home or go on holiday.”
