Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has warned his teammates about the threat Leicester City will pose this weekend despite their poor form. Villa, on the other-hand, are coming into this fixture with slightly more confidence than last week after holding on to secure a draw against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side last Saturday. Steven Gerrard will now be looking to build on this result, as he looks to capitalise on a Leicester side in turmoil. Speaking to Villa TV, Mings highlighted why he, and the rest of his squad, will need to be ‘wary’ of the Foxes this weekend.
Tyrone Mins said: “Leicester are going through a tough period as well, so it certainly won’t be a formality to turn up there and win a game of football – as it never is in the Premier League. For sure, we have to try and continue the momentum that we’re trying to build and not pay too much attention to what’s going on externally and the noise that’s going on around Leicester; they’ve still got very good players, they’ve still got a very good manager. It seems like a very together club, but obviously as we’ve known here as well, it’s difficult when things aren’t going so well. So, it’ll be a good challenge, it’s important for us to try and continue the momentum but, at the same time, to be wary and respectful of the players they’ve got.”
