Alisson Becker insists no-one at Liverpool is panicking over their current form as he pointed to the injury list as the primary reason behind the slow start.
Alisson Becker said: “I believe it is only because of the circumstances around us. The injuries. There are so many reasons you can point the finger at that. In the end, it is on us. We have to have the right attitude on the pitch, working against those kinds of problems and fixing those problems. We fix that with football, this is our idea. We have to stick with our idea of football. We have to fight too, be physical sometimes. We are trying to do that and we are getting there. This was a good example of what we can do this season. It is a long season and points are really important at the end. Now is not the time to look at that, at the end of the season you can see whether we dropped points or not. For now we are not carried by the feeling of losing points or not. This could be a point that makes a difference. We could have lost, they are a really good side and are improving. We are not happy at all but we had to get the point. We are changing a lot as well because of the players we lost at the beginning of the season due to injuries. Sometimes you need time to adapt, starting a new season you need time to adapt and it is not easy but we need to trust in ourselves and the quality we have. We know the quality we have as a team and as individuals, our skills, we just have to use everything we have.”
The Reds get their Champions League campaign up and running on Wednesday night when they are hosted by Napoli in Italy before a return to domestic action on Saturday sees them entertain Wolves.
Alisson Becker added: “For sure, we can improve. Even last season, we had an amazing season and at the end we could look at ourselves and see some things we could improve in our game. We are not going to do differently now. We know we are not at our level that everyone is used to seeing but we are trying and we are fighting. In this game we improved. Speaking about the performance, we had a more consistent game and we are getting there. We will get there.”
