Brentford boss Thomas Frank expects another tight encounter against Crystal Palace after two goalless draws from their meetings last season.
Thomas Frank said: “That would be amazing. Looking back at all of our Premier League games it is not often we create that many chances. Can we do that? That would be fantastic, that’s what we aim for, of course. I think we can do that. As a good reference, the last two games we played them [Palace], 0-0, very tight games. From my perspective, maybe we could have nicked a narrow win. I expect the same. It will be under the floodlights at Selhurst Park, one of the most difficult away grounds to go to in an evening game, we know that. But we know we are difficult to play against. I think it will be a very tight game. I don’t expect there to be that many chances for them or us in the game, but I believe in us and believe we can get points.”
Palace are currently one point and two places below Brentford in the table. Patrick Vieira’s side stunned Premier League champions Manchester City at the weekend after going two goals ahead after 21 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, but lost 4-2. Under Vieira, Palace have grown many admirers, including Frank.
Thomas Frank said: “Crystal Palace, I must say, Patrick Vieira, his staff and the team have done well. They have impressed quite a few. They have done well again this season and I think they look very dangerous. Pace, power, trickery. With [Wilfried] Zaha and [Eberechi] Eze I think they have two of the best 1v1 players in the division so they have a very exciting team.”
