Rodri says Manchester City have lots to improve on despite another stirring comeback earning them a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace.

Rodri said: “We’re very happy but we have to fix some things. We cannot let this team score two goals from nothing. We have to watch out. We were talking that last season we conceded one goal from set-pieces for the whole of last season and now we have conceded two in one game. We have to improve in this. We started so badly. We know with these types of teams the key is to not concede because we know how the game is going to be so difficult with all of their players defending at the back. We conceded two goals but after that the positive is the mentality of the team not to drop. We showed last season that we can score three goals in five minutes and we came back with a good performance from lots of players – in particular Bernardo, Erling and Julian [Alvarez] – so a great three points.”

Erling Haaland was delighted with his and Manchester City’s second-half performance against Crystal Palace, but the striker admitted that there is plenty of room for City to improve.

Erling Haaland said: “I feel really good and yeah, I don’t have to say too much because the feeling is amazing,” Haaland said after the final whistle. You see on the pitch, I enjoy it. I feel the connection around me. Of course it takes time to know people good, but I know it will come and we will get even better. We were almost there sometimes in the first half so it was about getting it done. This is what we do. It’s a good feeling. It’s really important to have this kind of mentality and we should get it even more. There is more we can do on set-pieces. We have to keep working hard. Everyone here, we play for each other and we play together. That’s a really good thing at City.”

Haaland has now clocked up six goals and one assist in just four league appearances for City. He’ll look to take that form into the Champions League next month, when City face Sevilla and the striker’s former club Borussia Dortmund.
