Riyad Mahrez has had unbelievable success in the Premier League. His magnetic impact at Leicester City helped them win the 2015-16 Premier League title. However, the Algerian has revealed his relief at being denied his Leicester City debut at Elland Road. After joining City in January 2014, the Algerian was included in a matchday squad for the first time for a 1-0 win at Leeds.
Mahrez said: “I was on the bench and I said to myself: ‘I don’t fit in here. The ball was flying all over the pitch, I was not physically ready and I didn’t want to go on. I didn’t play that day and I was seriously happy.”
