Tottenham have had a good start to their summer, signing three players to strengthen Antonio Conte’s squad. There have been a number of players across the world who have been linked with moves to N17, so there are likely to be more new arrivals in the next couple of months. The 26-year-old made 23 Premier League appearances last season, stepping in a number of times and this earnt the defender praise, from the Italian.
Antonio Conte said: “I want to say that Patron Sanchez, he played his last game in the starting XI maybe two-and-a-half months ago and he worked a lot, he worked very well and to see him tonight have this performance makes me and my staff very happy. When you have these type of players like Sanchez and Joe Rodon, reliable players that whether they play or don’t play they stay and work very hard, the coach and the staff are very happy.” The impact of players like the Colombian and Rodon, were also recently pointed out by Ben Davies. I think as a unit with all of our defenders, we’ve been good and we really clicked going into the final parts of the season. I include everyone in that – Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon are great professionals, they work hard every single day and they came in and played some minutes too.”
Sanchez has proven to Conte that he is a player the 52-year-old can rely on and someone with both Premier League and Champions League experience. However, if a big enough offer came in for the Colombian, would Spurs turn it down?
