Former Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has responded to comments made by Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cook following the Reds’ promotion back to the Premier League. In the celebrations after the full-time whistle at Wembley Stadium, Cook gave an interview to Sky Sports.
Steve Cook said: “I think we are going to go full Jack Grealish. We obviously saw the celebrations and we dreamt that it would be us. It’s the only time that I will probably able to be Jack Grealish and I am going to enjoy it.”
When asked about his ‘Jack Grealish’ celebrations during Forest’s party, Cook invited the Man City man to give his verdict.
Steve Cook said: “I don’t think they’ve even started yet. Only Jack Grealish can judge them I think today. I love him as a player, I love him as a human because he lives life and if we can enjoy this moment as much as he did his, I’ll have a good night.”
Grealish enjoyed a promotion with his boyhood club when Villa secure their return to the Premier League after a three year exile in 2019. Like Forest, Villa won the play-offs and scenes of jubilation from celebrations were captured in the days that followed. And Cook’s comments on Grealish have earned a reaction from the England international.
Jack Grealish said: “Congrats!! Enjoy you legend, see you next year!!”
