Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has thanked Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers after his comments about goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Speaking after the game, Rodgers was full of praise for the Arsenal man.
Brendan Rodgers said: “For me he’s the best English keeper at the moment. I think he’s top. It looks like he’s come into the club here, he’s playing now with a calmness. We saw him earlier this season and he was jumping about, but now he’s got a really nice calmness to his game. He plays well with his feet, he makes saves, his save from Barnes looked in all the way, that was a great save and it kept Arsenal in front.”
Arteta has now given his response to Rodgers’ comments. Thanking the City boss for his praise.
Mikel Arteta said: “Well, first, thanks to Brendan for thinking that way. I think Aaron has to take those words to give him confidence and support in what he’s doing. I’ve always said he’s been exceptional since the day we signed him, not only on the pitch, but what he transmitted. What he brought to the building, to the club, outside with his character and personality and that’s the kind of people that we want to bring to the club.”
