Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has admitted that despite not making his mind up on his long-term future yet, the Blues are talking to him ahead of an impending Crystal Palace transfer decision.

Patrick Viera said: “We didn’t talk about it at all. His focus is to finish the season well and finish as well as he started. We spoke this morning about tactical approach and the game we have on Monday. We always say we will sit down at the end of the season with Chelsea and Conor and what will be next. We know we have him for a year then he goes back. We don’t know. Nothing is going on – we know we have him for a year. We’ll work with him for the year then he’ll go back.”

With Chelsea and Tuchel currently unable to look for any new transfer incomings, their stance on the 22-year-old means that any permanent stay is unlikely at this current moment. This sentiment has been echoed by what Gallagher has said in relation to how switched on his parent club are to trying to aid in his development while he’s plying his trade in Croydon. Despite all the advice the Blues are offering the loanee, Gallagher admittedly still doesn’t know where his long-term future lies come the summer with all his focus currently on the here and now.

Connor Gallagher added: “Chelsea talk to me and keep an eye on me. They have loan staff who keep an eye on all the loan players so everyone feels like they’re still part of the club. They speak to me, and they say what they think you can improve on or what you’ve done well, so I’m very fortunate to have Chelsea. It’s nice. I haven’t thought about my future at all. I just take every game as it comes, so I’ve not I’ve not thought too ahead at all. I think in the stage we’re in this season and where Palace are as a team we can’t afford to you know look too far into the future. We got a very important end of the season being in the quarterfinal of the FA Cup now and needing to get points as well, which is very important.”
