Brendan Rodgers trusts that the Leicester City trio appearing in a clip shared on social media were not partying after the club’s exit from the FA Cup.
Brendan Rodgers said: “I wasn’t aware of it myself until yesterday (Tuesday) but I’ve spoken to the guys. I don’t think it was the most sensible thing to do, to put something out, no matter when it was. But I’m assured, when I spoke to the guys, that it definitely wasn’t at the weekend. It happened a number of weeks back on a Saturday when we had no game and the players were off on the Sunday. The players have been categorical with that and I trust that that is the truth, what they’re saying.”
For Rodgers, it acts as another example of problems that can arise from social media, which is something he is warning his players about.
Brendan Rodgers said: “It’s a constant education. I can’t really speak from being a user of it, and why you would do it and put it out. I certainly don’t think it was the most sensible thing to do, especially on the back of a really disappointing result. It’s in our modern lives now and it’s a constant education to players and young guys, why you would have to post and the timings of it. You get numbers of examples of these types of situations coming up, so yes, you definitely speak on it for sure and give them a reminder.”
