Leeds United’s Daniel James admitted to feeling ‘disappointed’ despite bagging a brace to help his side earn a dramatic point against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening. Fans were treated to a thrilling goal fest at Villa Park as two of the top flight’s most exciting sides went head to head. Leeds took the lead through James after nine minutes when he slotted past Emiliano Martínez into the bottom corner.
Daniel James said: “I think (in the) second half we came out and played really well. It was important to score that goal just before half-time to give us that lift going into the second half. I think we’ll be a little bit disappointed to not get the three points but it’s a point away from home against a tough opposition.”
James also spoke about his joy at being coached by Bielsa and the faith that his manager has shown in him to lead the line.
Daniel James added: “It’s something that we spoke about the other day. I want to score more goals, I want to get more assists and I’ve got to keep believing and making them runs. I got two today but I have to keep pushing, keep making them runs. We’ve obviously had injuries in the team and it might not be my preferred position but I really enjoy playing there. I’m learning every day under him.”
