Tanguy Ndombele has wished Tottenham good luck for the remainder of the season after returning to Lyon on Monday afternoon.
Tanguy Ndombele post read: “Happy to be back at @ol and happy end of the season to @spursofficial.”
Ndombele’s stay at Tottenham looked set to come to an end earlier in the month, with the midfielder being booed by his own supporters during Spurs’ win against Morecambe. After being replaced, the Frenchman was clearly jeered by the home fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Speaking after the game,
Antonio Conte said: “This type of situation, they are in football. You have to be good to change the opinions. I was a player and it happened sometimes to me that someone was unhappy with my performance. This is our life. It’s OK. We have to continue to work and try to be better next time. We have to know very well that if we perform well, the fans are happy. If you don’t perform well, the fans are not happy.”
It remains to be seen whether Ndombele will impress Lyon enough for them to snap him up for £54m, but a return to Tottenham in the summer is still feasible right now.
