West Ham saw off Leeds United 2-0 in the FA Cup third round on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Manuel Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen. Bowen was delighted to see off Leeds and is setting his sights on a long cup run.
Jarrod Bowen said: “The ambition for every competition is to go as far as possible. In the Carabao Cup we got to the quarter-final, progressed well in the Europa League and we’re doing well in the Premier League. The FA Cup is another competition that we want to do well in, a historic cup and we want to go all the way in that as well.”
Bowen is under no illusions though, and is well aware that to maintain their form and keep pushing in three competitions will be no easy task.
Jarrod Bowen added: “There is still a long way to go, we’ve still got a few more rounds to go before we can get excited about it so it’s watching who we get and going into the game when the next game is and taking each game as it comes in the competition.”
On a personal note, the attacker is pleased with his current form but is not resting on his laurels and has a great desire to continue his development.
Jarrod Bowen said: “I just want to try and build on what I achieved last year, my first full season in the Premier League. It’s all about progressing for me, just trying to reach the levels that I know I can get to. Whether that is assists or goals, they are the main two things you look at as a winger. I haven’t had the rub of the green with some chances this season and should have scored some others but it is nice to score here because my last one at Watford got ruled out by VAR.”
