Brentford head coach Thomas Frank says it “shouldn’t be possible” for his Premier League new boys to be above Aston Villa in the top-flight table. After coming from behind to beat Steven Gerrard ‘s side with goals from Yoane Wissa and Mads Roerslev, Brentford jumped one point ahead of Villa into 12th.
Thomas Frank said: “I think they have a very good squad. I think they have very good players. I think they had a very good manager, and they also have a very good manager now. I think they’re a good club, in many ways, so that we are above them I think that’s quite good too. But it was a game that could easily, and maybe should have, been a draw, but a tight game that we saw out in the end, and now we just need to continue.”
Frank has been a familiar foe of Villa’s since his arrival in England and holds an unbeaten record in the three matches he has faced them since becoming the main man at Brentford.
