Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has sent an emotional message praising the club’s supporters. Dewsbury-Hall played a starring role as City beat Liverpool 1-0 on Tuesday evening and led his teammates in passionate celebrations with the fans after the full-time whistle.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall said: “The dressing room is over the moon. This week’s been such a tough week. You’ll struggle to find a harder week in world football, playing Liverpool twice and Man City. It’s just a momentous effort from everybody to regroup, dust ourselves down and go again, basically 48 hours after playing Man City. It’s such a rewarding win. Everyone’s so happy and there’s some tired legs in there but that’s what you have to do to beat teams like Liverpool. We know what Liverpool are going to bring. They’re a very attacking team and they’re very talented. It’s a great save by Kasper to keep it out and that lifted the crowd and they were great tonight because we need them, especially with quick turnarounds. They’re like our 12th man. They riled us up, kept us going, and we’re so buzzing we got the three points for them.”
Blackpool and Luton loans
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall added: “I reflect and I know I’ve come a long way. All those loans helped me out to bring me to where I am now and I knew eventually I’d get to this level because I believed in myself. I knew how hard I’ve worked, so it’s a great feeling to be able to test my wits against the players that you’d say are some of the best in the world. I believe I can be up there and hold my own and do more against them, so it’s a great feeling. I’m excited to keep doing it and hopefully there’s more in the future.”
