Palace’s record without Wilfried Zaha is well documented, but not only were they missing him against Norwich but also Conor Gallagher – arguably their best player of the season so far. Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a rare goal but had an overall solid performance even if it did take him a while to play himself into the game a little. Jeffrey Schlupp also got on the scoresheet and provided a goal from midfield that usually would come from the absent Conor Gallagher.
Osian Roberts said: “We’re trying to work in a way that makes sure that we’re not too reliant on one or two players to be match-winners. For us, it’s important that everybody contributes both attacking-wise and defensive-wise. So I’m delighted that the other players stepped up today.”
