It is becoming a recurring theme in Potter’s team to score a late goal and deny their opponents’ victory as they have done it against Crystal Palace, West Ham, Southampton and now Chelsea. At Stamford Bridge, Danny Welbeck was the hero as his header snatched a point from the jaws of defeat to see Albion climb back into the top half of the Premier League table. Potter however does not think the team’s late heroics are down to luck.

Graham Potter said: “I thought it was a fantastic performance from the players, it was full of courage and full of quality against a top side. To come here and be ourselves is a big challenge and I thought we were and that is a credit to the players, they were fantastic tonight.”

The manager admitted that the performance was one of the best away outings the club have had since he joined the club.

Graham Potter said: “We performed well against Liverpool twice away, we have won and drawn there and that is not easy to do. Tonight was up there that is for sure, we have celebrated a point but I think it is more the performance and the courage that was shown as a group. I hope it is something we can take forward.”
