Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford feared he had suffered a recurrence of the ankle injury when he made a return to training last week. Bamford has missed Leeds’ last nine matches in all competitions but is now close to getting back into the fold after he was filmed back out on the grass with the ball earlier this week. But his return to training wasn’t with a scare, though, as he believed that he had aggravated his injury last week when he was taking part in some high-intensity training.
Patrick Bamford said: “Actually really good to be fair. Last week, I hurt my ankle again but it wasn’t bad. I twisted it doing full-speed stuff outside and [the medical team] thought I’d redone the injury but the ligament has pretty much healed. I tried on Saturday with the anaesthetic doing full [training] outside and it was fine.”
