Jesse Lingard enjoyed a brilliant, if short, spell on loan with West Ham last season only for an agreement on a permanent deal with Manchester United to fall short. The question of Lingard potentially returning was put to Moyes in his press conference earlier on Friday, but the Scot would not be drawn on speculation.
David Moyes said: “He is a Manchester United player and I’m not going to talk about players at other clubs. All I can say is we enjoyed having Jesse, he made a great contribution to the team and he helped the team. Maybe the team has moved on, kicked on again. Jesse is a Man United player and it’s for them to decide what he does.”
A win away to Wolves and defeat for Chelsea in Leicester would mean the Hammers draw level on points with the current table toppers, with the two due to meet at the start of December.
