Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has backed Illan Meslier to be his successor as France’s number one once he decides to hang up his gloves.
Hugo Lloris said: “There’s Illan Meslier, who is doing very nice things in the Premier League. He’s a young goalkeeper, but when you look at what he’s doing at his age, in such a tough and intense league, it shows all his potential.”
Lloris has been France’s first choice between the sticks for a number of years now, winning 134 caps over the course of his 13-year career with Les Bleus. Thanks to the already excellent pedigree he has built up in the game in the last 12 months, Lloris sees Meslier as a potential contender to replace him in Didier Deschamps’ side.
