Watford boss Xisco Munoz admits that the Hornets will need to learn quickly in the Premier League after falling to their first defeat of the season. The Hornets were beaten 2-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium, with first half goals from Shane Duffy and Neal Maupay sealing the three points for the hosts. For Watford, it was a first setback since returning to the top flight, after winning 3-2 against Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the new season. But the Hornets’ boss said after the game that there were still positives for his side, although he admitted that there was room for improvement and that Watford would need to learn from the defeat.
Xisco Munoz said: “The Premier League does not give second chances. This is the level. Today it was like this. We need to keep going and always try to give all the support to our players because we have an amazing challenge and we need to keep going with the same attitude and prepare for the next game.”
But he is confident that the Hornets will take positives from the game as they look ahead.
Xisco Munoz added: “We need to learn quickly, we need to learn about the Premier League. The positive things are the second half, the team gave a good second half. One step more, we need to continue with the same ambition and power.”
Watford now prepare for a Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road in midweek, before travelling to face Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Sunday.
